Dear Berliana,

Happy birthday.

I've rewritten this a few times already, trying to find the right words, because honestly nothing feels like quite enough.

There's something about the way you exist in my life that makes even the ordinary days feel a little brighter. I notice the small things: the way you laugh, the way you get quietly thoughtful, the way you care about people even when you're the one who's tired.

I don't always say this out loud, but I notice everything. How hard you try. How much you care. How you show up for the people around you, even on your hardest days.

I know things have felt a little distant between us lately. I just want to say I'm truly sorry if I ever did or said anything that hurt you, made you uncomfortable, or caused you to pull away. Regardless of where we stand right now, every moment we shared meant the world to me, and my feelings for you have always been genuine.

I hope this year is gentle with you. I hope it gives you the things you quietly hope for but never say. And I hope, in whatever way I can, I get to be there for it.
